Super Saturday 2 saw both Otters and plenty of adults competing with 40 boats out on the water. Conditions were gusty with plenty of shifts making for two very good races.
In the Fast Handicap 22 boats competed with strong Laser RS200 and Phantom representation, both races were won by Arthur Brown in his Laser followed by Malcolm Hutchings in a Blaze. The Teras dominated the 15 boats in the Slow Handicap with the spoils shared between Luc Riches in Race 1 followed by the Haynes siblings in joint second, and Imogen Palmer who took first place in Race 2 followed by Luc. It was also good to see the Cadets out practicing for the indicator event to be held this coming weekend.
Conditions and other events elsewhere meant that only 3 boats competed in the Optimists fleet with 2 bullets for Jemima Cook. Roll on
10th June for Super Saturday 3 when Victor tells us there will be a big fleet of Optimist sailors participating – chances are, with the club hosting an IOCA Girls Only weekend, there will be plenty of girls leading the way!
