'Twas the middle of summer, mid June - cold, wet & blowing a gale so must be the RCOD Regatta! Most of the fleet reefed for all four races, five boats started the competition on Friday with Nick Oliver taking the honours in Corella.
Coriander decided not to brave the forecast on Saturday as John Apps raced Corpo Santo to victory in the morning and Adrian Fluker brought Cormorant home first Saturday afternoon when we all hung on and survived the gale force squall up the Roach! Corella also thought better of the forecast that afternoon and indeed retired with a broken kicker on Sunday while Adrian also won Sunday mornings race to take the Regatta Trophy.
Corindelle received the prize for beating the last boat, and Corsair's consistent mid fleet placing eventually earned us a bottle too. But we did enjoy the Regatta dinner on Friday evening when the absent Class Captain sent us encouraging words and I must say a better than his average, joke!
