Burns' Night never disappoints and on Saturday the evening was eagerly anticipated by the 70 members and guests gathered in the beautifully themed dining room.
Dinner was enjoyed with the familiar parade of the Haggis and later the Rib of Beef. Throughout the dinner Steve Jones choreographed the tributes to Burns' world with poetry and repartee, treating all assembled to his spirited version of the Ode to the Haggis and later the Immortal Memory.
The Commodore provided a 'heavily accented' rendition of the 'Fish Supper' and as the evening progressed we were treated to the ever entertaining Address to the Lassies, this time from John Barker with able retort to the Laddies by Cathy Jones.
A display of Scottish dancing by the ..........Dancers was followed by very enthusiastic reels from the guests with the evening concluding in fine style with accompanied singing to a variety of ballads and songs. A fine evening and one for the diaries next year!
