Over 300 competitors from around the country took part in the Optimist Dinghy End of Season Regatta at Rutland Water over the weekend of the 10th & 11th October. The competitors were split into two fleets with 230 more experienced sailors sailing in the Main fleet and 80 plus younger sailors sailing in the Regatta fleet.
Corinthian Otters Kathryn Hutton-Penman and Arthur Brown sailed brilliantly in Regatta Fleet, Arthur eventually finishing 3rd overall and Kathryn winning. Both also belong to the Burnham Sailing Club and they received their trophies from Paul Goodison, the current Olympic Gold Medalist in the Laser class.
Well done to all our local sailors who took part in the Regatta and performed well, especially to James Hutton-Penman and Joshua Aldridge who finished 46th and 67th respectively in the very competitive Main fleet.
